Explore the depths of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to many of the remaining mountain gorillas on earth, and take in the adventure of Lake Mburo National Park, which offers zebra, hippo, Impala, and numerous bird species. Crown the safari with conquering the might Nile rafting up to the grade 5 rapids.

SAFARI ITINERARY

The adventure begins as we leave Kampala and drive south.  During a brief stop at the world’s equator in Uganda, you will have a chance to take in local crafts.  From there, we will continue on to Mbarara for lunch and make the journey through the remarkable green mountain country fondly known as “Little Switzerland.”

Arrive at the Mahogany Springs for an evening dinner and an overnight stay.

Travel Time: 8-10 hours

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters to meet your park rangers who will serve as your guides for the day’s excursion.  Your trek into the mountains may range from thirty minutes to eight hours, but once you meet the gorillas, you will be able to spend one full, unforgettable hour with them.  Gorilla tracking begins where the gorillas were found the previous day.  Enjoy a picnic lunch in the great outdoors and return to your accommodations for dinner and an overnight stay.

Leaving Bwindi, we will journey to Lake Mburo National Park, stopping along the way for lunch in Mbarara. Take a game drive in the evening and look out for the newly introduced Rothschild Giraffes, buffalo, eland, impala, zebras, water hogs, impala and waterbucks. For birders the menu has African fin foot, bare faced go away bird, the African Fish Eagle, papyrus gonolek and many others.

Return to Mihingo Lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Explore Lake Mburo National Park with a morning game drive.  The park offers zebra, Impala, Topi, hippo, and a wide range of woodland bird species.  After lunch, we will begin our scenic drive back to Kampala and check in at Emin Pasha Hotel booked on Bed and Breakfast basis.

Travel time: 5 hours

Wakeup to a hot early morning breakfast before the Adrift bus picks you. You will head towards the east of Uganda.  Along the drive, admire the gentle hills of pure green plus the tropical Mabira forest that is home to various plant species. Arrival at Adrift rafters along banks of the majestic River Nile the world’s longest river. After a short briefing from the expert rafter, you will be grouped in teams and assigned your rafting guide.

Equipped with a float jacket and helmet, we will start our rafting adventure on the great river Nile. The fifteen mile rafting section offers grade three to five rapid. We stop for lunch and reenergize before completing the remaining rapids. You will be returned to your hotel in Kampala. Bungee jumping can also be organized on this day at an additional fee.
